Southern Vinyl of Kinston in 1B4NC Campaign Thanks to Lean

Southern Vinyl employees celebrate 1B4NC award presentation North Carolina State University continued its 1B4NC campaign by recognizing Southern Vinyl Manufacturing, LLC, in Kinston at a special presentation in April. City leaders and representatives from the local community college attended. Southern Vinyl reported an economic value of at least $2.4 million on a lean project it began with help of IES.

Hear from Southern Vinyl founders, Dean Ervin and Rod Matthews on the benefits of waste reduction, quality improvements and shorter delivery timeframes. Since the inception of lean manufacturing, the company has tripled their employment and have vowed to never lay off an employee due to a leaner environment.
