Hazardous Materials Transportation Training

This course will cover the basic requirements for shipping hazardous materials using 49 CFR (DOT) regulations. This certification workshop discusses the fundamentals of shipping hazardous materials and hazardous wastes, quantity exemptions and exceptions, and changes in the regulations. You will learn to apply the rules to your materials. The course can be 1 to 2 days in length based on the company's needs.

The course consists of engaging lecture, table-top exercises, and a series of review questions following each major topic. There is an exam administered at the end of the workshop. Certificates of participation will be awarded.

Receive general awareness/familiarization training to recognize and identify hazardous materials; function-specific training to ship, receive and handle hazardous materials; safety training on methods and procedures for avoiding accidents, measures to protect employees from the hazards associated with hazmat, and emergency response information; and security awareness training. You will receive a copy of 49 CFR, Parts 100-185.
