Environmental Compliance Audit (On-Site Assessment)
Have IES determine your regulatory status
-
Environmental Compliance Audits are available through the North Carolina State University Industrial Extension Service (IES). Companies can use this service to self-audit their facilities in an expedient and confidential manner. The audit uses Dakota Auditor software to present a hierarchical status of environmental compliance. A series of yes and no questions are answered to determine regulatory applicability followed by compliance determinations.
As a non-regulatory body, NCSU IES will conduct a 1-2 day audit and report all findings confidentially to the manufacturer. With this information in hand, a company can determine the most cost-effective environmental strategy to implement without being burdened by enforcement deadlines or regulatory agencies.
-
Environmental Compliance Audits are often conducted in response to the ISO 14001 "Compliance Evaluation" requirement. Audit information can also be useful to non-ISO companies in an effort to maintain continual compliance and minimize possible legal issues.
