In the words of Taiichi Ohno, "Where there is no standard, there can be no kaizen." In other words, if there is no standard way to perform a task, the performance can be improved. Standardized work is a fundamental tool used by Toyota Production System. Every task or process a person does should be documented, repeatable, safe, and the best known way to perform it.
This course will teach you the fundamental lean building block: standardized work. It is a very integral part of sustaining continuous improvement because it creates repeatable standard work methods. Those repeatable methods create better predicted outcomes.
