Bio:
Kevin Grayson is Manager of Continuous Improvement Services and works from Shelby.

Kevin specializes in quality system development using tools such as Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, the Malcolm Baldrige criteria, and ISO 9000. He instructs both Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt classes for NCSU and consults with companies on Six Sigma implementation.

Kevin has served nine terms as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Examiner, most recently as a Senior Alumni Examiner. He has presented at numerous state and national conferences on subjects such as Six Sigma, measurement system analysis, TPM, and lean manufacturing.

Kevin was a contributing author to the Encyclopedia of Statistics in Quality & Reliability (Wiley, 2007). He has also published in the Kauffman Collection: Efficient Manufacturing Strategies series for kauffman.org. He has also co-authored Six Sigma training materials used and copywrited by NCSU.

Kevin has 15 years of experience at two Fortune 100 companies in quality management, engineering management, and faclities engineering postitions. His roles included plant environmental coordinator, plant safety team leader, and ISO 9000 management representative. He was also a deployment champion for Total Productive Maintenance and directed all aspects of an ISO 9001 program.

Kevin was appointed as Charlotte Section Chair for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) for 2000-01. He served in various other leadership roles for the section in prior years.

Kevin has B.S. degrees in both electrical engineering and economics (1983) from NC State University, an M.B.A. (1986) from Brenau University, and an M.S. in electrical engineering (1993) from UNC-Charlotte.

Kevin is certified with ASQ as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), and as a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) and Master Black Belt (MBB) from NC State. Kevin is a certified Plexus Trainer-Coach for both ISO 9000, QS 9000, and TS 16949.
