Bio:
Steve Swain manages IES relationships with the metalworking and automotive industry cluster.
Steve joined IES in April 2005. He is a resource for clients in the automotive and metalworking industry.
Steve is an experienced operations manager with a history of successfully managing a large and small organization. He was a member of the senior staff that created and implemented the strategic plan that led to company growth from $40 million to $350 million in sales in eight years. He was responsible for the efficient operation of a multi-plant operation, including manufacturing, engineering, new product development, quality, supply management, shipping and distribution. Lean manufacturing implementation was his way of life and he experienced significant yearly productivity improvements, quality improvements, and delivery improvement. His company became the leader in its industry. Due to several acquisitions, he has experience with startups, turnarounds and consolidations. He has experience with plastic injection molding, metal machining, high volume assembly, fiberglass reinforced product, sheet metal fabrication and woodworking.
Steve has B.S. in engineering from N.C. State University and an MBA from the University of Tennessee. Steve is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and a professional business coach.
