Bio:
Buster Knox is the director of extension services focusing on account management.
In this position, Buster is responsibile for directing the account management offices throughout the state. This group is the IES interface to the local region's manufacturing and business community. Buster's additional responsibilities include IES sales and client service. Also, he is the primary interface for the Charlotte Regional Partnership.
Buster has more than 30 years of industry experience in various facets of both manufacturing and marketing. He has held the titles of industrial engineer at Hunt Manufacturing Company, industrial engineering manager, production control manager, and product planner at IBM, and senior industrial engineer for Homelite and General Time. He also worked in production control planning at Burlington Industries. Buster's work experiences have been diverse and challenging. He is proficient in many areas, including work measurement, plant layout and expansions, capacity utilization, standard cost, product transfers, production control planning and scheduling systems, project management, and product/service marketing.
Buster has a B.S. in industrial engineering (1973) from NC State University and an MBA (1982) from UNC-Charlotte.
