Anna Mangum coordinates the E3 program, which engages community leaders and manufacturers in the adoption of sustainable manufacturing best practices. She also is an environmental health and safety specialist.
Anna meets with community leaders throughout the state to engage manufacturers in the federal E3 program. She then facilitates manufacturers through a process to assess, transform and sustain results that should lead to greater profitability. She also specializes in the delivery of EHS classes and on-site services including Lean and Green Reviews, ISO 14001, HAZWOPER, and a variety of occupational health and safety classes. She is also a leader in the national E3 community through the Manufacturing Extension Partnership Network.
Prior to joining IES in 2008, Anna conducted research at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. There, her work focused on familial pulmonary fibrosis and molecular genetics.
Anna has a B.S. in environmental technology, with minors in environmental toxicology and environmental science, from NC State University.
