Charlie Parrish, P.E., is an environmental engineering specialist.
Since joining IES in July 1998, he has assisted NC manufacturers in areas including ISO 14001 (environmental), OHSAS 18001 (safety), ISO 50001 (energy), environmental compliance auditing (multi-media), air quality permitting, emissions testing, industrial waste minimization assessments, energy surveys, and health and safety assessments & training.

Charlie has taken lead auditor training for ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 Auditor and is a Plexus Trainer/Coach. Charlie has assisted more than 50 companies in developing their Environmental Management System (EMS) to qualify for ISO 14001 certification.
Prior to joining IES, Charlie worked for SAIC where his responsibilities included air permitting, air emissions inventories, mobile source emissions modeling, and developing regulatory guidance documents and software tools. Charlie also managed a variety of industrial air quality projects at Radian International LLC (1989-1997) and EAL Corp (1980-1984). Between 1984 and 1987, he served as Intern Environmental Engineer at Chesapeake Corp (pulp and paper) and as a Water Quality Technician working in marine and estuarine environments. Much of Charlie's experience has been focused on field and laboratory measurements for air quality, industrial hygiene, water quality, and other environmental disciplines.
Charlie has a B.S. in biology (1978) from San Diego State University and an M.S. in environmental engineering (1989) from Virginia Tech University. Charlie received his P.E. license in environmental engineering in 1994.
