OTI 2250 Principles of Ergonomics Applied to Musculoskeletal and Nerve Disorders

About This Event:

This course covers the use of ergonomic principles to recognize, evaluate, and control work place conditions that cause or contribute to musculoskeletal and nerve disorders. Topics include work physiology, anthropometry, musculoskeletal disorders, use of computers, and risk factors such as vibration, temperature, material handling, repetition, and lifting and transfers in health care. This course emphasizes industrial case studies covering analysis and design of work stations and equipment, laboratory sessions in manual lifting, and coverage of current OSHA compliance policies.

Tim McGlothlin, MS, CPE is the Executive Director of The Ergonomics Center of North Carolina, at North Carolina State University. In addition to his responsibilities of managing the consultation, research, administrative, and marketing functions of the Center, Tim provides ergonomics consultation to clients, performs ergonomics field studies and assessments, and delivers training and education to Center members and other clients.
