Welcome to the Southeastern OSHA Training Institute Education Center

NC State Industry Expansion Solutions and The University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services have partnered to offer OSHA training throughout the states in Region IV since 2008. We are an OSHA-authorized provider of trainer courses, standards and technical courses, as well as two safety certificate programs. We provide the US Department of Labor OSHA Outreach Training Train-the-Trainer Program, OSHA’s primary means of training employees in the basics of occupational safety and health. Courses are available for construction, general industry, food and beverage manufacturing and disaster site safety. We look forward to working with you.

Natural Disasters and the Recovery Process

Natural disasters are a common occurrence across North and South Carolina with hurricanes, tornadoes and flooding posing a serious risk to much of the region.

Recovery Resources

IES provides hazard training in the following areas, depending on the training audience. Other topics may be added as identified.  IES is also partnering with the NC Department of Labor to distribute personal protective equipment (PPE) at these sessions while instructing participants on safe use.

Free Offerings

With support from OSHA’s Susan Harwood Grant Program, training materials have been developed for farm and agricultural worker safety. The Tractor Talks materials include handouts, pocket cards, and PowerPoint slides for each of 12 topics. The goal of these Tractor Talks is to provide an opportunity for farm owners and operators to connect with their workers and share important information related to farm safety.

Safety Isn’t Temporary!

FREE Workplace Safety Training for Temporary Workers. Thanks to support from the Susan Harwood Training Grant Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, Industry Expansion Solutions and the Southeastern OTIEC Training Center are now able to offer you a free training guide to help protect the health and safety of your temporary workers. These materials are made available in both English and Spanish.

Be sure to check out our resource page for locating authorized OSHA Outreach trainers through the Southeastern OSHA Training Institute Education Center at NC State University Industry Expansion Solutions.  These trainers are authorized to train the OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Hour outreach courses and have agreed to post their contact information on this page.
