Engineers Sought to Teach PE Review

The North Carolina State University’s Industrial Extension service plans to offer both the Mechanical and Environmental Engineering Principles and Practice Exam on-line using engineers experienced in the sub-discipline areas as instructors. Reference materials and test questions with solutions will be provided for the instructor to use in developing teaching materials. An instructional designer will be available to assist the engineer in formatting the content for on-line delivery. On-line delivery includes videotaped lecture, slides, and other state of the art delivery materials. Preparation and teaching can be done at hours to suit the engineer’s schedule including nights and weekends.

The review will be broken down into multiple modules and professional development hours will be offered to individuals taking the class. Course delivery will be based upon sub-discipline exam question weighting established by the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors and can be viewed at their website, www.ncees.org.

NC State’s IES prefers instructors with professional licensure and teaching experience. A global audience of engineers is expected to register for these courses. Engineers teaching the courses will be recognized as experts in their discipline.

Don’t miss the opportunity to be a part of what is expected to be the most highly recognized and widely used PE review series in the country.

Please submit your letters of interest to PE_review@ncsu.edu. NC State’s IES expects to continue the series with on-line review courses in other disciplines. Engineers in other disciplines qualified as instructors are encouraged to respond, clearly indicating areas for which they are qualified to teach. Respond soon for this unique opportunity for national visibility in your area of expertise. We will contact you upon receipt of your letter of interest and will stay in touch as details of future courses are available.
