Understand how the process approach, in conjunction with the requirements, can provide benefits for your organization and for your customers. Participants engage in activities that create an understanding of each element and illustrate the organizational and individual benefits of a business management system.

You Will:
Participate in exercises to help you appreciate the value and intent of the standard Create a basic non-business model or metaphor for elements of the standard - something that has inputs, transformations, and outputs as any business would have Relate key elements of the standard to your own company Review the standard for thorough understanding. Each clause is discussed as it may apply to your company.

Why the International Standard of Organizations exists The intent of ISO 9001 The use of the guidelines How the ISO 9001 standard applies to different organizations A practical application of each of the standard's elements and how it relates to the intent of the standard.
Instructor(s):
Quality systems trainers of the NC State University Industrial Extension Service. Each is an experienced Quality Management System facilitator and auditor, has assisted numerous North Carolina companies in training and implementing quality systems, or has specific understanding of ISO 9001 based quality management systems.
