About This Event:

Many companies need to conduct Environmental Compliance Audits to satisfy ISO 14001 requirements or as a self-auditing mechanism to prevent "Notices of Violations." Requirements applicable to NC industrial facilities range from Air Quality, Wastewater Permits, and Hazardous Waste disposal issues to Emergency Action Plans, Spill Prevention, Underground Storage Tanks and other issues.
This workshop will provide an overview of the types of environmental requirements, what the applicability triggers are, and how to assess compliance. Different approaches for assessing will be covered including a demonstration of Dakota AuditorTM, a state-of-the-art compliance software package.

Persons responsible for developing the list of legal environmental requirements and assessing compliance with those requirements. Typical employees include ISO 14001 environmental management representatives, compliance officers, EHS managers, technicians, and others.

Learn how to use a compliance software such as Dakota AuditorTM
Learn how to develop a customized compliance checklist from state and/or federal codes.
Discover what records are needed to demonstrate compliance
Become familiar with reporting and recordkeeping requirements.

Chemical storage and risk management
Stormwater (state and federal requirements)

Toxic substances control Act (TSCA).

A variety of instructors from the Industrial Extension Service, Department of Environment and Natural Resources and private sector will teach individual sections of this two day workshop.
