Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with JMP Software

Obtain your Black Belt in partnership with SAS Institute using SAS JMP® software.

Sigma is a statistical measure of variability. In a service or manufacturing environment, a Six Sigma process would mean that the process is virtually defect-free. In one million operations of a process, Six Sigma would allow only 3.4 defects. Most companies operate at 4 Sigma, which allows 6,000 defects per million operations of a process. Motorola set out to reduce the number of defects in its own products in the 1980s and called the process Six Sigma.

About This Event:

Black Belts are technically-oriented personnel selected to become on-site implementers of Six Sigma projects. Six Sigma Black Belts are trained in the statistical methodology to reduce variation of products and services to the Six Sigma level. Six Sigma Black Belts are also trained to facilitate, lead and manage Six Sigma teams to sustain significant bottom-line results.

The four-week Black Belt package consists of four sets of training sessions for a total of 116 instructional hours. You are expected to identify and bring a project to work on during the course of Black Belt workshops. The focus will be on utilizing Six Sigma methodology and applying the right Six Sigma tools and techniques to the project. The corporation receives immediate payback through the project work. After the workshops, you will have the skill set to lead and conduct Six Sigma projects throughout the organization to achieve significant financial results.

Recommended For:

JMP software users including engineers, analysts and technically-oriented managers who have been assigned the responsibility to carry out Six Sigma projects. You will learn how to apply the right Six Sigma tools and techniques using JMP.
