This one-day course focuses on OSHA's requirements for permit-required confined spaces, standard 29 CFR 1910.146. Anyone required to develop and implement a permit space program will find this course helpful. It covers OSHA's requirements but does not feature hands-on sections (instrumentation and control methods and testing) which are included in a more in-depth course - OTI 2264.

Paul P. McCain, PE is the Construction Program Chair for the Southeastern OTI Education Center and President of McCain Special Project Services, Inc. He offers a wide range of continuing education and consulting services to private industry on a variety of programs related to engineering, safety, construction management and law. All of which are topics he taught for more than a decade as a full-time university faculty member. Currently, Mr. McCain serves as an adjunct faculty member with NCSU in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering.
