About This Event:
The North Carolina Awards for Excellence (NCAfE) program is based on the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, This workshop will provide a basic introduction to the criteria and how it is used to continuous improve an organization’s performance. Participants will learn techniques and tools to simplify the criteria for easier understanding and use, and the steps to take to begin the journey of continuous improvement using the NCAfE program

This basic workshop is designed for anyone who is beginning their Performance Improvement journey using the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence or evaluating options to improve their organization’s performance and competitiveness in the marketplace
You Will:
Conduct an assessment of the participant’s organization’s performance using the Baldrige criteria. Learn how the North Carolina Awards for Excellence program based on the Baldrige criteria can be used to guide organizations to performance excellence. Use selected Baldrige criteria to determine how it becomes a model for organizations to improve internal operations and customer focus. Use flow diagrams to visualize the criteria and assist in the understanding of the criteria

Instructor(s):
Wayne Tindle is the Program Director for the North Carolina Awards for Excellence. He has been active in the North Carolina Quality Award process since it began in 1991 as an examiner (5 years), senior examiner (2 years) and judge (3 years). He has over 14 years experience in the implementation of Baldrige principles. Before coming to NCSU he worked for Alcatel USA in team development training, and facilitation; implementing Baldrige concepts through training, coaching, and internal consulting; and ISO9000/TL9000 auditing. Wayne has a bachelor's in electrical engineering from Tennessee Technological University and a master's in management from NC State University.
