Food Processing

Discover how IES can transform the food processing industry.

Assembly line in food processing plantWorking with NC State University’s Department of Food Science and Food Science extension and outreach, IES contributes to the improvement of North Carolina's and the nation's food processing industries by improving their production processes and safety.

Process efficiency in the food industry may be achieved by incorporating advanced technologies that lower unit costs and improve overall product quality, contributing to higher profits. Agrichemicals, farm machinery, supplies, agricultural construction, distribution and other industries support the food processing industry.

IES seeks ways to work hand in hand with these companies to find ways to reshape production processes around new technologies and help them stay competitive while keeping their workplaces safe and efficient.
