History of NCAfE
The program was initially formed in 1989 as a foundation through an executive order of the governor. It was transferred to the Industrial Extension Service (IES) at North Carolina State University in 2001. The first state award after the transfer to NCSU was presented in 2003. Through 2008, 55 organizations have received performance feedback and recognition since 1991 and 11 organizations have participated multiple times to obtain feedback as they continuously improve their performance.
