Spreading the Word about Food SafetyOn Thursday, August 28th, NC State University’s Cooperative Extension, Food Extension and IES partnered to provide information on the FDA’s Food Protection Plan from the farm to the table. The plan focused on safety of the food supply chain, including production, processing and preparation. IES clients, Sara Lee and Ann’s House of Nuts shared best practices and quality programs to ensure the safety of their products. The event was successful from attendee perspectives as well. “Just knowing where to go for information is extremely helpful,” said Dennis House, distribution manager for Ann’s House of Nuts.
