ISO/TS 16949:2002 is now the preferred automotive quality system for suppliers to the US Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), replacing QS 9000 completely in December 2006. ISO/TS 16949:2002 is based on the widely recognized ISO 9001:2000 and includes all of the ISO 9001 requirements.
Successful registration to ISO/TS 16949 can give the following benefits:
