ISO/TS 16949:2002 is now the preferred automotive quality system for suppliers to the US Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), replacing QS 9000 completely in December 2006. ISO/TS 16949:2002 is based on the widely recognized ISO 9001 and includes all of the ISO 9001 requirements.

Successful registration to ISO/TS 16949 can give the following benefits:

  • Access to international automotive manufacturing markets
  • An effective process-based quality management system
  • A framework for enhanced customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
  • Compliance to ISO 9001

NC State provides extensive training services to assist companies implementing new automotive quality systems or transitioning an existing program.
