Deadlines! Meetings! Email! Laundry! The car needs an oil change! The grass hasn’t been mowed! Oh, my goodness – life can be so noisy! And hear me when I say this past month has been a little louder than average.

On top of the normal buzz, my family moved aging parents into an assisted living facility, our much-loved minister retired and two dear friends received cancer diagnoses. June got my attentionloud and clear!

Unfortunately, the clamor can sometimes drown out the important whispers of life. Whispers that say, “the dishes can wait, go play with the kids” or, “you’ve worked enough today, take some time for you.”

Last month was a reminder that while life is sometimes noisy, it is also short, and those whispers are too important to miss! Join me this summer as I turn down the proverbial volume. Like high-quality noise reduction PPE, I’m going to try to filter out the unnecessary noise and enjoy the sounds of living. I’m looking forward to what I might hear!
