8-Hour Hands-On HAZWOPER Refresher

Course Details:

1 Day, 8 Instructional Hours
8 MESH Hours (Manager of Environmental Safety and Health)
8 PDHs (Professional Development Hours for Engineers)


About This Course:
This course meets the annual refresher requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 by presenting realistic hazmat issues for group discussion and opportunities to plan and respond to mock hazmat spill/release scenarios.


Recommended for:
Anyone needing a HAZWOPER refresher, whether for emergency response or for remediation or TSDF work, such as equipment operators, general laborers and supervisory personnel engaged in hazardous substance removal, emergency response team members.


NOTE: This is an annual refresher class. ALL participants should have completed a minimum of 24 hours of initial HAZWOPER training.


Participants will:
Employ critical thinking and demonstrate practical skills for hazmat situation response


Topics include:
  • Practice methods and procedures for recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazardous substances
  • Demonstrate proper measures for protecting personnel and the surrounding environment
  • Demonstrate ability to select and use appropriate protective equipment — including respirators, protective suits, boots and gloves
Additional Information:
Participants should be dressed comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes as some demonstrations and activities may be conducted outdoors.
