24-Hour HAZWOPER for Hazardous Waste Site Workers Raleigh
March 19 - March 21
One event on November 5, 2018 at 12:00am
If your job requires you to enter hazardous waste sites, then you need to be prepared to protect yourself. This course will increase your understanding of health and safety plans, protective equipment, and many other aspects of working around hazardous waste while also meeting the training requirements of OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard — 29 CFR 1910.120 paragraphs (b) through (o). Know where you fall in both the federal and state classification systems and make sure you are meeting at least the minimum training requirements for dealing with acute hazardous waste.
This course is recommended for any personnel who may need to enter a hazardous waste site, including Superfund sites, RCRA corrective action sites or voluntary cleanup sites, where minimum exposure levels are expected. Participation will allow employees, contractors, consultants, regulatory agency personnel, private-sector project managers and others to fulfill OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (b)-(o) training requirements. Please note that this course is designed for hazardous waste site workers and NOT for emergency response personnel. This course DOES NOT meet the requirements of 24-hour Hazardous Material Technician Level for emergency response per 29 CFR 1910.120 paragraph (q).
All courses can be applied to the Manager of Environmental Safety and Health (MESH) certificate | www.ies.ncsu.edu/mesh
