Bill Iacovelli, Extension Specialist for NC State Industry Expansion Solutions (IES) and Ravindra Aggarwal, Engineering Manager, Consolidated Metco, Inc. Iacovelli assists organizations in developing systematic, long-term Lean implementation and leadership programs. He also trains and develops Lean Six Sigma Green Belts. In twelve years, relative to his project work with them, Bill’s clients (by way of a third-party survey) have reported to NIST over $74M in economic impact and over 500 jobs retained or created.
Ravindra Aggarwal has been an engineering manager with Consolidated Metco, Inc. since April 2017. He has 18 years of experience in supply chain manufacturing, quality and operation engineering. Aggarwal obtained a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, a master’s in business administration in operations management and a master’s in science with a concentration in data science.
The facilitators will be providing an overview of robotics in the workplace. Iacovelli will share a brief background on the types of robots available to manufacturers, including the quickly growing segment of collaborative robotics. Aggarwal will then share ConMet’s journey of implementing robots and automation in its North Carolina manufacturing facilities. He will discuss what his company has learned along the way, how the technology is being integrated within existing production lines and advice for those ready to investigate automation and robotics for their own business.
