PPE Requirements for Re-Tooling: Regulatory Issues
May 21, 2020 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Webinar: A Call to North Carolina to Produce PPE
Back by popular demand, NC State Industry Expansion Solutions (IES), the administrator for the North Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NCMEP), invites you to a returning webinar on PPE Requirements for Re-Tooling: Regulatory Issues on May 21, at 1:30 p.m. EST.
Expert Darren Reeves, invited guest speaker and president of DP Distribution and Consulting, will discuss the COVID-19 state of emergency and how companies could potentially re-tool to keep their doors open and keep personnel employed.
Businesses facing a downturn in activity because of the economic slowdown following the state’s stay-at-home order have a few choices for propping themselves up. One option is redefining themselves, taking advantage of their existing materials, machinery and talent to help manufacture personal protective equipment (PPE) and other critical supplies needed by the medical community, first responders and other businesses in which employees must interact frequently with the public.
Darren Reeves has been in the medical device industry for over 30 years and has worked with both domestic and international regulatory officials throughout that time. He began consulting in the medical device industry 20+ years ago and has helped dozens of companies develop medical devices and ensure they are meeting regulatory requirements.
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will understand:
- What is PPE?
- Types of devices of concern during a pandemic
- Classifications for medical devices
- Differences in devices
- Emergency Use Authorization (EUA)
- Factory requirements
- FDA Approval
- Hand Sanitizer/Alcohol for Hand Sanitizer
- Current status (things are changing every day)
