Greensboro, NC – June 2, 2015 – NC State Industry Expansion Solutions (IES), the solutions-based, industry and business focused unit of NC State University, today announced that Executive Director Terri Helmlinger Ratcliff, PE, PhD will moderate a panel discussion at The North Carolina Chamber’s 2015 Manufacturing Summit. The panel, titled “Competing in the Global Economy,” will take place on Thursday, June 4 beginning at 10:30 a.m.

“The Manufacturing Summit is important to the industry because it leads discussion about what the best solutions are for manufacturing in our state,” says Phil Mintz, IES Associate Executive Director and Director of the North Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership. “We are proud to make a contribution to this event.”

Topics featured at the Summit include: analysis of recent manufacturing survey results; how North Carolina competes against other states; the impacts of technology on the industry; competing in a global economy; recent legislation; why innovation is essential to manufacturing; and workforce development, among other topics.

IES is a Silver Sponsor of the event and will host an exhibit at the Summit where senior IES staff members will take questions and discuss the organization’s service and solution offerings.
