NC State University Industry Expansion Solutions Welcomes New Regional Manager

We’d like to introduce you to Lori Benn, the newest regional manager for North Carolina State University Industry Expansion Solutions (IES). Benn serves as the regional manager for the northeast region, including Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Edgecombe, Gates, Halifax, Hertford, Hyde, Martin, Nash, North Hampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell and Washington counties. Lori strives to ensure all resources are available and work cohesively to help build stronger, more competitive businesses. Lori has over 30 years of military and industry experience. The early part of her military career was spent on active duty in the military as a tactical aircraft maintenance specialist, followed by a United States Air Force Reserve career as an aircraft maintenance controller and military intelligence analyst. While working in the industry, she has worked for textile, aviation, electrical power devices and precious metal companies. She has management experience in ISO 9001 quality management system; ISO 14001 environmental management system; ISO 45001 safety management system; lean manufacturing; ITAR; auditing and project management.

In the newest episode of Clocking In, NCMEP director Phil Mintz talks with the vice president of economic development of NCCCS, Dr. Bruce Mack. Dr. Mack has earned an associate’s in applied science from Gaston College, a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering Technology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a Master’s in Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Doctorate in Education from Gardner-Webb University.
