Timeout for Safety

Join us for the upcoming Timeout for Safety discussion sessions on Wednesday, May 19 at 2 p.m. or Friday, May 21 at 9 a.m.! The session will be hosted by NC State Industry Expansion Solutions’ (IES) assistant director of safety and health services, Holli Singleton and IES safety and health specialist and OSHA trainer Mac McNulty. These 30-minute sessions are open forums so whether you want to inquire about safety topics or just want to pop in and say “Hello!” all are welcome!

Fall Prevention Safety Stand–Down

The eighth annual National Safety Stand-Down to prevent falls in construction is scheduled for May 3–7, 2021.OSHA encourages construction employers and other stakeholders to join the event to promote awareness and training to address one of the industry’s most serious dangers. OSHA’s Fall Prevention Stand-Down webpage offers a wide range of compliance resources in many languages, including Spanish, Polish, Russian and Portuguese. Participants will receive a  personalized participation certificate upon completion.

OSHA also encourages everyone to use #StandDown4Safety to promote the event on social media and share feedback after their events.

FREE Ergonomics Training for Small Business Warehousing

The Ergonomics Center at NC State University offers free live training sessions for small businesses with warehouses in the Raleigh, NC, Charlotte NC and Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN regions. Virtual sessions are also possible. Learn more about Ergonomics Training for Small Business Warehousing »

Return to Face-to-Face Classes

After over a year of exclusively delivering virtual courses, NC State IES and the Southeastern OSHA Training Institute Education Center is preparing to phase in in-person classroom courses at the beginning of June. For those who feel comfortable with joining us for in-person courses, IES instructors and staff are preparing to take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment according to NC State Community Standards. For those who are not yet comfortable with joining us in person, we understand and are continuing to offer virtual classes.
