OSHA Revises National Emphasis Program (NEP) for COVID-19

Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, OSHA has revised its National Emphasis Program (NEP) for COVID-19. The new updates include enforcing protections for workers in non-healthcare industries who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated, ensuring workers are protected from retaliation and more.

NCDOL Safety and Health Consultation Program 

The North Carolina Department of Labor’s (NCDOL) Safety and Health Consultation Program was created to help North Carolina businesses meet safety and health standards and regulations. The services the Safety and Health Consultation Program provides include full-service on-site safety and health surveys; technical assistance; safety and health program assessment and assistance; ergonomics evaluation and assistance; air sampling and analysis; noise measurements and recognition and exemption programs. 

Susan Harwood Training Grant Program Materials

Susan Harwood Training Grant program materials are available online for training use. The grant materials include safety and health training, hazard awareness, avoidance and prevention information.

OSHA’s Small Business Safety and Health Handbook

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) have developed the Small Business Safety and Health Handbook to provide small business employers with workplace safety and health information.

The handbook explains the benefits of a successful safety and health program implementation, provides self-inspection checklists for employers to identify workplace hazards and reviews key workplace safety and health resources for small businesses.
