Avoiding the Use of Makeshift Attachments for Powered Industrial Trucks

Job-made makeshift boxes, baskets and platforms that are attached to powered industrial trucks pose a huge risk to workers. There have been previously reported falls as a result of using make-shift platforms. Know all the risks and hazards of job-made attachments with OSHA’s Hazards of Using Job-Made Boxes/Baskets/Platforms Safety and Health Bulletin. 

Hurricane Preparedness and Response 

Hurricane season officially started on July 1. To prepare, OSHA has updated its hurricane preparedness and response page to include how to plan and respond to a hurricane during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Be Safe + Sound at Work: Find and Fix Hazards

The quicker workplace hazards are identified and eliminated the less likely they will cause injury to workers or equipment. OSHA has created an easy-to-understand Be Safe + Sound at Work: Find and Fix Hazards flyer to help workers spotlight hazards, create accountability, identify hazards and fix them. 

Prevent Heat Illness at Work

This summer, temperatures have reached record highs all across the country. Don’t get stuck in a heatwave unprepared. OSHA has created a flyer entitled “Prevent Heat Illness at Work” for quick and easy instructions on what to do to protect yourself and others and the steps you need to take to treat someone suffering from heat-related illness
