Reduce your EHS liability and project a reputation of management excellence.

ISO 14001 is the international standard for implementing an Environmental Management System (EMS).  It maps out a framework that organizations can follow to set up an effective EMS. ISO 45001 (OHSAS 18001) is very similar to ISO 14001, but instead of managing environmental issues, 45001 focuses on managing Occupational Health and Safety concerns. These include Job Hazards, OSHA regulatory requirements and potential emergencies. IES can provide both the ISO 14001 services listed on this page – as well as the 45001 system requirements.

Many large companies are requiring their suppliers become ISO 14001 certified. This is especially true in the automotive and electronics sectors and many foreign-based companies are also requiring ISO 14001 certifications.

ISO 14001 builds an EMS that addresses legal compliance issues and environmental aspects. OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 manages job hazards and other Health and Safety issues. These standards helps build improvement objectives, training programs and control documents (work instructions, operating manuals, etc) to manage the system.

IES has assisted over 50 companies with our ISO 14001/ISO 45001 (OHSAS 18001) services:

ISO 14001 has changed. Have you transitioned to the 2015 version?

ISO 14001:2015, published in September 2015, is the newest version of the standard. It has been updated to provide organizations the most current and relevant requirements for improved performance and business benefits. Organizations that are currently registered to the previous version, ISO 14001:2004, will have until September 2018 to transition to the 2015 standard. IES can work with you today to ensure a smooth transition in the future. For more information about the ISO 14001:2015 transition, read the ISO 14001:2015 frequently asked questions or speak with us to learn more.

OHSAS 18001 is now ISO 45001.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) recently released the new ISO 45001 standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS). IES ISO 45001:2018 solutions provides a framework to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better and safer conditions for workers everywhere. The standard was developed over a five-year period by ISO/PC 283, incorporating most of the requirements from the previous OHSMS standard— OHSAS 18001.
