Claire provides implementation, facilitation and training for core quality management systems and tools including problem solving methodologies including A3 and 8D, TS 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 13485, FMEA's, APQP, MSA's and SPC. She has over 25 years of engineering and manufacturing experience, 14 of those years directly related to training and implementing quality and lean manufacturing systems. Claire began her career working in industry where she held many different roles in engineering, production and quality. She worked for Corning Incorporated for 10 years where she gained extensive experience in the automotive industry as a Tier 1 supplier. She was a quality manager for Corning Incorporated and led the successful implementation of ISO 9002, ISO 9001, and eventually QS 9000 which is now TS 16949. She led the development of control plans, PFMEA's, process flow charting, MSA's, and PPAP's in order to meet the APQP requirements. After leaving Corning, Claire joined the North Carolina and then the Virginia industrial extension services where she served companies in multiple sectors including but not limited to automotive, furniture, aerospace, paper and non-wovens, food and beverage, mining, textiles,; machining operations, medical devices and plastics. Claire has helped countless companies in ISO/TS implementation and served as an external auditor for ISO 13485 std reqts which included auditing against CFR requirements. Her main focus at NCIES is quality management systems, but her expertise includes lean manufacturing implementation and training where she is a NIST certified trainer and has facilitated multiple Kaizen events and Lean manufacturing transitions. Clara has her B.S. in materials and science engineering/ceramic engineering from The Ohio State University. She is a certified Green Belt and Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, a trained lead auditor in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, a trained internal auditor for TS 16949, ISO 17025 and ISO 13485. In addition she is a NIST certified trainer in Lean manufacturing.
