Deb Manzo, Ph.D., directs the North Carolina performance excellence coaching program. She provides coaching, facilitation and training for leaders, managers, supervisors and associates in government, business, healthcare, manufacturing and education sectors. Her areas of proven expertise in transforming organizations include: leadership, strategic and action planning, customer engagement, data analytics and cascading scorecards, knowledge management, workforce engagement and satisfaction, process improvements and results based decision making. This includes customized learning and improvement activities for senior leaders, boards, directors, managers, supervisors, category leads and the general workforce. Since 1999, she has served the United States National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) as a National Baldrige alumni senior examiner. She has also served as the senior director for continuous improvement and professional development for an organization with 14,000 employees and 125 sites. Deb is also a clinical associate professor with UNC-Chapel Hill since 1999 with extensive experience teaching masters and doctoral students in leadership, diversity, performance excellence, research and evaluation. Deb received her Ph.D. from Columbia University in organizational leadership and a M.Ed in administration & supervision; B.S. in education, B.A. in French/Spanish; M.S. in organizational psychology from Oklahoma State University; and a M.S. in counseling from NOVA Southeastern University. She is a master trainer in Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, quality tools, thinking maps; Covey-7 habits; framework for understanding poverty; professional learning communities and facilitative leadership. She is certified to administer a wide range of leadership and change assessments, including Myers-Briggs, change leadership, emotional Intelligence and others. She is a certified Six Sigma Black belt and ISO 9001 auditor. Dr. Manzo has national board certification in counseling.
