Wendy leads the development and delivery of high quality and innovative technical open enrollment and distance education courses. She directs the Southeastern OSHA Training Institute Education Center, and aligns coursework with the academic vision of NC State University Outreach & Engagement. Wendy has worked in the safety, health and environmental profession for more than 20 years in various capacities, including serving as the safety and health manager for a biotechnical manufacturing company. Her experience includes managing the safety and health program, ensuring OSHA compliance and employee participation, managing occupational health services and workers' compensation, and various environmental responsibilities including ISO 14001 certification. She is an Authorized OSHA Trainer for General Industry. Wendy has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a Masters in Industrial Engineering from NC State University. She currently serves on the NIOSH NORA Manufacturing Sector Council and the Executive Committee of the OSHA Training Institute Education Center community. She served as president of the North Carolina chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers for 2003-04, and served five years on the board of the Central Carolina Occupational Safety and Health School.
