Heather Mitchell is the Budget Assistant for the Business Operations Group of NC State's Industry Expansion Solutions (IES). Heather's primary responsibility is to assist in the financial monitoring and managing of all account activity within the department. Heather compiles monthly financial statements for a variety of funding sources, assists in financial analysis, approves all financial transactions and monitors the work and work flow of the financial functions. She is responsible for assisting in fiscal planning as well as fiscal year end closeout. Heather also works with the Business Operations Group as the financial liaison for all IEShop transactions, including Professional Learning courses, OSHA cards, MESH certificates and IEShop materials sales. She also serves as the liaison between IES and the College of Textiles regarding Six Sigma revenue and expense share. She runs financial queries, approves PRs for pcard purchases, reconciles pcard transactions for IES' pcard holders, and journals revenues from all IEShop sales and credit card revenues. She is responsible for collections, Technology Incubator rent collection and reconciliation, University late payment reporting and University Aging reporting. Heather first came to IES in 2011 to serve as the Assistant to Phil Mintz, the Assistant Director of IES and Director for the North Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NCMEP). Heather holds a B.A. in Psychology from NC State University.
