Lean Product Development (LPD) is about using Lean thinking and concepts within the product development process. Lean thinking requires us to apply a cultural context, in addition to a set of methods and tools.  LPD combines methods and tools with culture and behaviors, balances efficiency and effectiveness and also emphasizes knowledge work. 

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a business process management method related to traditional Six Sigma. It is used in many industries to design new products or new services.  It is based on the use of statistical tools. DFSS has the objective of determining the needs of customers.  

Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) is a voluntary supply-chain security program led by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) focused on improving the security of private companies’ supply chains with respect to terrorism. The program was launched in November 2001 with seven initial participants, all large U.S. companies. As of December 1, 2014, the program had 10,854 members. C-TPAT projects help clients implement a compliant system to meet C-TPAT requirements.

ISO 22301.  Security and resilience – Business continuity management systems – Requirements, is a management system standard published by International Organization for Standardization that specifies requirements to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve a documented management system to protect against, reduce the likelihood of occurrence, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents when they arise.
