About this Course:
This course covers safety and health management responsibilities. Through discussions and small group exercises, participants will learn how to implement a Safety and Health Management Program (SHMP) based on OSHA’s Recommended Practices for Safety and Health Programs.  The fundamentals of occupational safety and health management programs and how to assess workplace safety and health will be examined.

Recommended for:
Experienced safety professionals interested in exploring world class safety design and implementation. This is not an introductory course.

Topics Include: 

  • Occupational safety and health management program (SHMP) fundamentals
  • Assessing workplace safety and health management programs

 

Participants will:

  • Have the ability to evaluate, develop, and implement an effective safety and health management system for their company
  • Identify system failures and corrective actions that produce long lasting results
  • Describe attributes of the 7 core elements of OSHA’s Safety and Health Management System
  • Locate SHMP resources
