Katherine Bennett leads the Instructional Design team for NC State Industry Expansion Solutions (IES). She also serves as project manager for instructional design services. Katherine plays a key leadership role in supporting the IES goal of providing instructional design and development expertise that complements the field-specific expertise of IES partners, while meeting the learning needs of target audiences. Her design focus is on providing learner-centered, engaging and adaptive instructional and training content. Prior to joining IES, Katherine worked at Wake Technical Community College as an Instructional Technologist and project manager for several campus-wide initiatives including their quality enhancement plan and accessibility in online learning. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a master’s degree in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University. Her experience in higher education and distance education spans over 13 years and multiple roles including network system administrator, computer technologies instructor, course designer, and instructional technologist. Her professional certifications include Quality Matters Peer Reviewer and Universal Design for Learning.
