The North Carolina Defense Industry Diversification Initiative (NCDIDI), the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) and NC State Industry Expansion Solutions created this defense contractor resource directory for North Carolina companies who are interested in or doing business with the Department of Defense (DoD).

Cluster Analysis
As part of the North Carolina Defense Industry Diversification Initiative, an analysis was conducted on the significance of defense industries in the state’s business clusters and sub-clusters. The defense cluster analysis was designed to provide actionable information for diversification and business support services in Phase II of the DoD OEA grant. Used in combination with the other reports, the cluster analysis provides valuable information for targeting key defense sectors for support.

Regional Profiles
The Regional Profile reports explore the similarities and differences in defense contractor activity among North Carolina’s six regions, as defined by NC State’s Industry Expansion Solutions (IES). The six profiles discuss a variety of methodological, data and definitional issues and provide high-level regional comparisons of defense industry activity, highlighting significant differences among regions.
