Summertime Joy and Combating Fatigue

It’s been a while since I have uttered the words, “I am bored.” In this fast-paced and multi-tasking society, it seems we operate with little downtime during most of our waking hours. Hence, my joy at planning my summer vacation, as I long for unstructured time with family and friends and perhaps a little boredom.

Fatigue in the workplace is recognized by the National Safety Council as a growing problem. Research estimates that 13% of workplace injuries can be attributed to fatigue, and 43% of Americans admit they may be too tired to function safely at work. Take a look at a few of the resources below and identify methods you and your employees can use to address workplace fatigue.

Cheers to your needed summer vacation downtime, and to reduced workplace fatigue when you return,

Wendy Laing
